“Tales of Edgar Allen Poe” at the Center for Puppetry Arts

Hoping I’ll get to see this again this year. Marvelously macabre.

  1. We’ve got tickets to go this Friday evening (they did a nice one-day discount on them a week or so ago). We’re taking three 12yo boys who have been reading Poe for (homeschool) lit class recently. Well, we’re taking our son, one of his friends, and the third friend is coming with his dad, but you get the idea. My son is excited by the prospect of Poe and a theramin… and I am too.

  2. Following up, the show was FANTASTIC! Dark and creepy and brilliantly done. I absolutely loved the set, brilliant technical stuff going on in that set design. Klimchak’s music was perfect (though I’ll admit the dissonant stuff going on while “poe” was boarding the large ship was almost painful to hear, even if it fit). The performers were great, nailed the feel and the tone… highly recommended.
